MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – The National Art Museum of Belarus will launch its online project Museum Backstage on 18 May to mark International Museum Day. The museum will air live the things that are hidden away from public view, BelTA learned from the museum.
The project will enable everyone to take a glimpse of the museum funds and restoration workshops, and how physical and chemical research and attribution of objects are conducted. “We will broadcast from the very heart of the museum and find out who the curator is and why the museum cannot do without them, where the museum get the exact copies of world masterpieces from and where they are kept. It will be possible to find out what the book of new arrivals is and who keeps it, how conservation differs from restoration, why the art museum has a collection of weapons, why the item research process is similar to a detective history and why there is a sector of physical and chemical research in the museum,” the museum said.
The museum workers will also present some unique works that have never been exhibited before. “The museum will launch the broadcast on its Facebook page and YouTube channel at 19.00 on 18 May,” the museum added.
