MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) - The Kontinental Hockey League has announced the coaches to guide Team East and Team West in the 2016 All-Star Game, reads the KHL official website.
Team East will be under the guidance of Ilya Vorobyov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk) and Andrei Skabelka (Sibir). Taking charge of the stars from the Western Conference will be Dmitry Kvartalnov (CSKA) and Alexei Kudashov (Lokomotiv).
The Belarusian specialist will be taking part in his second All-Star Game. In 2015, he replaced Zinetula Bilyaletdinov who could not come to Sochi, the venue of the hockey show.
The former player of Belarus’ national ice hockey team Andrei Skabelka was appointed head coach of HC Sibir Novosibirsk in summer 2014. Now the team is 4th in the KHL Eastern Conference (87 points, 50 matches). In the 2011/2012 season Andrei Skabelka served as senior coach and in the season 2012/2013 as head coach of Belarus’ national ice hockey team. As a player Andrei Skabelka played 133 games for Belarus scoring 114 (49 +65) points.
Dinamo Minsk forward Matt Ellison and Belarusian defenseman Vladimir Denisov will make part of the starting lines (Team West and Team East respectively) in the 2016 KHL All Star Game.
