GOMEL, 6 January (BelTA) – Young students of the Mozyr-based culture and circus art center Arena will represent Belarus for the first time ever during the international circus art festival in Monte Carlo, Monaco, BelTA learned from the center’s Creative Director Maria Kuznetsova.
Three trapeze artists — Victoria Bagrayenok, Stefaniya Turmovich, and Stanislav Plotnikov — will take part in the children program of the world’s most prestigious circus art festival that will take place on 27-31 January. According to the source, the Belarusian artists were invited to partake in the festival after many victories during international contests. Maria Kuznetsova said that for circus artists the festival in Monaco is as good as Olympics for sportsmen.
In 2015 the mastery of Mozyr circus artists was applauded in China, Italy, Russia, Israel and a number of other countries. They also often perform in various Belarusian towns and cities.
The culture and circus art center Arena was created in 2006. Now it has about 100 students. The graduates specialize in many circus genres, including acrobats, aerial gymnasts, equilibrists, jogglers, and ropewalkers. In 2013 the Arena circus art center was awarded the honorary title of the Merited Amateur Team of the Republic of Belarus. In 2014 the Belarus president awarded Arena for their considerable contribution to the development and popularization of amateur circus art.
