YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, 4 September (BelTA) – An agro-town being built in Sakhalin on the Belarusian project with the use of Belarusian technologies and the participation of Belarusian specialists will be commissioned in summer 2018, BelTA learned from Sakhalin Oblast Governor Oleg Kozhemyako.
The agro-town will be located in the village of Razdolnoye, Korsakov District. Twenty out of 50 homes have already been built in the agro-town, with a dairy farm for 1,000 head in the pipeline. All necessary infrastructure will be built as well. The local authorities plan to set up a processing enterprise there with the use of Belarsuian technologies.
“We have set forth a goal to use the scenario which proved itself in Belarus. The most advanced technologies are implemented here. Belarusian specialists are responsible for the design and the construction. We are adopting the experience,” said the
State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota came to Sakhalin on a working trip and visited the construction site of the agro-town together with the governor. He called the project vital for the region. “Agriculture is difficult to develop on Sakhalin,” he said. “But I am sure that the project will be successful,” he added.
