MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – Belarusfilm and a movie producer from India have signed a memorandum of long-term cooperation, BelTA learned from employee of the international cooperation department at Belarusfilm Yekaterina Tarasova.
Director General of the Belarusian movie studio Belarusfilm Vladimir Karachevsky and founder of Scintillating Global Jagan Mohanta signed a five-year cooperation agreement in cinematography. In line with the agreement, the Indian side will use the services and capacities of Belarusfilm. Apart from that, the parties will provide each other with organizational and marketing support.
“Chairman of the Indian Union of Trade and Industry Promotion Organizations Mr. Priyanshu Jha who has been living in Belarus for many years, approached the Belarusfilm movie studio with a proposal to promote Belarusfilm in India. He introduced us to a young producer interested in promoting our movie studio among Indian moviemakers. Several music scenes of a new movie will be shot here very soon,” Yekaterina Tarasova said.
In her words, the Indian moviemakers were impressed by Belarusian nature. “They were as much impressed by the capacities of the movie studio. Producers of several movie studios from India showed interest in collaboration,” she added.
