Belarus’ Yegor Gerasimov reaches Astana Open main draw

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ Yegor Gerasimov, ranked 661st in the world, has reached the Astana Open main draw, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian defeated world number 80 Alexandre Muller of France, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) in the second qualifying round.

At the start of his run, Yegor Gerasimov proved stronger over Belgium’s world number 172 Zizou Bergs, 6-4, 6-4.

In the doubles round of Last 16 Yegor Gerasimov and Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Kukushkin will face Robin Haase and Botic van de Zandschulp of the Netherlands.

The tournament in the capital of Kazakhstan will be over on 3 October.
