MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Anton Chekhov’s Chaika (Seagull) by the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater of Belarus will be touring China in November 2017, BelTA learned from the theater.
The famous play in the interpretation of art director of the Yanka Kupala Theater Nikolai Pinigin will be shown in Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Jinan on 9-30 November. The play features Viktor Manayev, Zoya Belokhvostik, Valentina Gartsuyeva, Pavel Kharlanchuk-Yuzhakov, Alexander Kazello, Igor Sigov, Elena Sidorova, Igor Denisov and others.
In 2016 the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater became an honorary member of the Silk Road International League of Theaters founded by the Chinese authorities to expand creative contacts between the countries participating in the Silk Road initiative. Today the organization comprises more than 80 participants from 30 countries. The forthcoming tour will be the first event of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation as part of the International League of Theaters program.
The Yanka Kupala Theater toured China in 2014, bringing its plays Wedding and Not Mine to the Spring Festival of Beijing’s People’s Art Theater.
