MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won eight medals at the 2018 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal, BelTA has learned.
Gold medals were collected by Gleb Solodukha and Denis Makhlai (Men’s C2 200m), Kamila Bobr and Elena Nozdreva (Women’s C2 200m) and Artyom Kozyr (Men’s C1 200m).
Silver medals were clinched by Marina Litvinchuk (Women’s K1 5,000m) and Elena Nozdreva (Women’s C1 500m).
Bronze medals were claimed by Olga Khudenko (Women’s K1 500m), Elena Nozdreva (Women’s C1 200m), and Nadezhda Makarchenko and Olga Klimova (Women’s C2 500m).
Belarus ranked fourth in the medal table. Germany topped the medal standings with seven gold, four silver and two bronze medals. Second went Hungary, with Russia in third.
At the previous world sport forum in Racice, the Czech Republic Belarus won six medals, including two golds by Olga Khudenko and Artyom Kozyr.
