MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – Belarus has clinched 20 medals at the World Para Swimming Championships in Mexico City, BelTA has learned.
Igor Boki claimed his seventh gold of the tournament in the men’s 100m freestyle S13 (52.24 seconds). The Belarusian also took the champion title in men’s 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly and 100m breaststroke, 200m medley, and 400m freestyle.
On the final day of the competitions Natalia Shavel touched in second in the women’s 200m medley SM6. Grigory Zudilov finished second in the men’s 50m freestyle S11.
The Belarusian team placed fifth in the medal table with 11 gold, seven silver and two bronze medals.
Belarus placed ninth with nine medals at the 2015 World Para Swimming Championships in Glasgow.
