MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – Belarus won three golds at the Anatoly Kharlampiev Memorial tournament, which is a sambo world cup in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
Yekaterina Prokopenko picked up gold in the 60kg finals. In the men’s circuit Belarusian Vladislav Sayapin (68kg) snatched gold in the final against Artur Te from Kyrgyzstan. Belarus’ Ilya Hadkevich was victorious in the 74kg combat sambo. In the finals the Belarusian beat Mavrik Nasibyan of Armenia.
Team Belarus also claimed two silver medals at the Moscow tournament. Tatyana Matsko (64 kg) lost to Sophia Kabulova from Russia while Leyla Abbasova lost the final fight to Russian Elena Bondareva in the 48kg category. Belarus also won nine bronze medals.
Belarus men’s team placed second in the overall scoreboard of the tournament, women’s team third.
