MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Greco-Roman wrestlers claimed four medals at the Polyak Imre Memorial in Szombathely, Hungary, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Grabovik of Belarus secured the 98kg gold defeating Rio Olympic bronze medalist Javid Hamzatov of Belarus 4-0. Silver went to Javid Hamzatov. Kazbek Kilov of Belarus claimed silver in the 75kg category after losing to Hungary’s Tamas Lorincz 0-2.
Bronze medalist of the European Games in Baku Viktor Sosunovsky reached the semifinal in the 80kg category where he lost to the U.S. wrestler. In the bronze-medal bout he beat an athlete from Georgia. Soslan Daurov (66kg) failed to grace the podium losing to the Japanese wrestler.
Hungary’s Szombathely will host U3 Senior European Championships 2017 (Freestyle, Greco-Roman, Women’s Wrestling) on 28 March – 2 April. Belarus is to field 23 athletes.
