MINSK, 7 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian national team raised the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge trophy after defeating the team of Japan 3-0 in Liepaja on 7 November, BelTA informs.
Following the victories over Italy (1-0) and Latvia (4-3) Dave Lewis’ team had every chance to win the tournament and it used it to the full in the game against Japan.
Among the scorers in the game against the Japanese team were Viktor Andrushchenko, Pavel Boyarchuk and Stanislav Lopachuk.
Team Belarus will hold its next training camp in mid December ahead of the Arosa Challenge Cup in Switzerland on 18-19 December.
The tournament in Latvia was the first stage in the preparations of the national team for the 80th IIHF World Championship which is due to take place in Moscow and Saint Petersburg on 6-22 May 2016.
