MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Belarusian sambo wrestlers won 13 medals at the World Sambo Championships 2020 in Novi Sad, Serbia, BelTA has learned.
Gold medals were claimed by Anzhela Zhilinskaya (72kg), Aleksandr Koksha (75kg), and Andrei Kazusenok (100kg).
Silver went to Vera Gorelikova (64kg), Anastasia Skvortsova (68kg), Svetlana Timoshenko (80kg), Vladislav Sayapin (68kg), and Dmitry Khokhlov (over 100kg).
Bronze medals were clinched by Vladislav Burd (57kg), Ivan Aniskevich (62kg), Timofei Yemelyanov (82kg), and Aleksei Stepankov (90kg). Bronze also went to Sergei Kopylov (68kg) in combat sambo.
The Belarusian team finished second in the medal standings behind Russia (17 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals). The tournament medals were won by athletes from 19 countries.
