MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) - About 300 athletes from 48 countries took part in the 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Uzbekistan, BelTA has learned.
Team Belarus won 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. The gold winners were Alyona Nazdrova (canoe single, 1000 m), Mikita Borykau and Aleh Yurenia (K2 1000m), Yuliya Trushkina and Inna (C2 500m) and quartet Nadzeya Kushner, Volha Khudzenka, Uladzislau Kravets and Dzmitry Natynchyk won the mixed K4 500m crown.
The silver medalists were Maryna Litvinchuk (K1 1000 m and 5000m), Volha Khudzenka and Dzmitry Natynchyk (K2 500m, mixed), Anhelina Bardanouskaya, Uladzislau Paleshko, Vitali Asetski and Volha Klimava (mixed C4 500m). The bronze medalists were Uladzislau Kravets (K1 500m), Volha Khudzenka and Maryna Litvinchuk (K2 200m) and Uladzislau Paleshko and Inna Nedelkina (mixed C2 500 m).
Earlier this year, Team Belarus successfully performed at the European Championships in Hungary in June, winning nine medals (5-2-2). Two Belarusian canoeists competed in the Olympic Games in Paris: Uladzislau Kravets finished fourth in the 1000m and canoeist Yuliya Trushkina was fifth in the 200m.
