MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – A delegation of the Presidential Sport Club of Belarus visited the United Arab Emirates. The visit has been arranged upon the invitation extended by the Abu Dhabi Ice Sports Club (ADISC) for the sake of bolstering cooperation with Belarusian sport organizations, BelTA learned from representatives of the Presidential Sport Club.
The visit took place within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed by the Presidential Sport Club and the Abu Dhabi Ice Sports Club in Minsk in January 2015. In line with the memorandum the bilateral cooperation is supposed to focus on training sessions, the organization of sport events by the two sides, the exchange of the best practices for the sake of developing ice sports.
The Belarusian delegation examined the infrastructure of the sport facility Zayed Sports City and met with UAE sport officials. Chairman of the Central Board of the Presidential Sport Club Dmitry Lukashenko met with the ADISC executive director for ice sports, the secretary general of the central office for youth and sport affairs of the United Arab Emirates, the president of the UAE ice hockey association, and the secretary general of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
The sides expressed their readiness to step up work to reach the goals and implement the tasks set by the memorandum, to expand cooperation avenues. The efforts are supposed to favorably influence the development and popularization of sport in Belarus and the United Arab Emirates.
