In the final match at Scotiabank Saddledome Arena the Belarusians took a solid win over Saskatoon Contacts 6-1 (2-0, 1-0, 3-1). Team Belarus scored twice in the first period and then one more in the second. The Contacts pulled one back midway through the third, but two more goals from Belarus put the game out of reach with a couple of minutes remaining to play.

Vasily Filyayev and Pavel Azhgirei each scored twice. Dmitry Savritsky and Ivan Nekrasov also added to Belarus’ offense.

Vladimir Magdeyev’s men strolled through the round robin action undefeated, finishing atop Pool 1, before winning all three playoff games. In the quarterfinal the Belarusians blanked Red Deer Optimist Chiefs 4-0. In the semifinal they edged Cariboo Cougars 5-4 in overtime.

Belarus U17 Team was playing at Mac’s Midget AAA World Invitational Tournament for the second time.
