Belarus to take part in SCO Film Festival in Qingdao

MINSK, 11 June (BelTA) – Belarusian films will take part in the SCO Film Festival in Qingdao, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Culture Ministry.

Belarus will feature five films at the festival that will be running in China’s Qingdao on 13-17 June. The films will include Vyacheslav Nikiforov’s Tum Pabi Dum, Elena Turova's Ryzhik in Wonderland, Alexander Anisimov’s Footprints on the Water, Andrei Kudinenko’s Massacre, and Vera’s Sweet Farewell (Aleksandra Butor).

Natalia Agafonova, a senior associate of the Screen Arts Department of the Kondrat Krapiva Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore, was invited to make part of the SCO Film Festival jury. The Belarusian delegation will include representatives of the National Film Studio Belarusfilm, directors, and actors.

The Belarusian cinematographers will take part in the official opening ceremony of the film festival, film screenings, presentations of Belarusian films, the cooperation forum and the closing ceremony of the event.

The Belarusian delegation is expected to hold talks with representatives of the SCO member states.
