MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – On 27 January Minsk held the draw ceremony of the AMF Futsal Men’s World Cup the Belarusian capital hosts in April 2015, BelTA has learned.
The host country will play Australia, Brazil and Uruguay in Group A. The strongest rival of Sergei Safonov’s men is Brazil that clinched the world’s champion title in 1982 and 1985. Team Uruguay won silver in 1997. Australia has no AMF Futsal Men’s World Cup titles. Belarus reached the quarterfinal of the world championship in 1997, 2007 and 2011, and won the European championship gold in 2004, 2014. The country collected bronze in 2008.
Other groups of the 2015 AMF Futsal Men’s World Cup are as follows:
Group B – Paraguay, Belgium, Norway, Morocco;
Group C – Columbia, Czech Republic, Venezuela, Curacao;
Group D – Argentina, Russia, Slovakia, Kyrgyzstan.
Games will be held in Borisov, Brest, Minsk, Molodechno and Pinsk on 17-25 April.
