MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) – Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 480 as of 22 July 2019 has formalized the establishment of a general consulate of Belarus in China’s Chongqing in 2020. The resolution was officially posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on 24 July, BelTA has learned.
The Finance Ministry shall earmark funds for the opening and operation of the general consulate in Chongqing.
As of today, Belarus operates two general consulates in China: one is located in Guangzhou and the other in Shanghai.
Chongqing is a major city located in southwest China. It is one of China's municipalities under the direct administration of the central government. Chongqing is an important railway hub connecting China with Europe. Chongqing has twin-town relations with Minsk Oblast.
