MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus will place a special emphasis on the development of industrial tourism in 2017, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Agency Yelena Likhimovich said in a press conference in BelTA’s press center.
The National Tourism Agency will continue to promote factory tourism. “During international expos we always receive a great number of questions regarding visits to enterprises. People want to see the manufacturing brands known since Soviet times. I think, this year many businesses will open their doors to tourists,” Yelena Likhimovich said.
Some businesses are ready to organize such tours. For example, tourists can see the cheese manufacturing process in Brest Oblast, or learn how to make chocolate, pasta, cookies, wine and spirits in Minsk. Quite often, tourists ask us to take them to a zephyr factory. “Our zephyr is famous practically all over the world. Many people want to see how it is made. We plan to organize such tours,” she noted.
In addition, tourists are invited to visit Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) and Belarusian Autoworks (BelAZ trademark). “These are the country’s well-known brands, known everywhere and interesting to our tourists,” Yelena Likhimovich said.
