MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – The first batch of Sputnik V, the Russian coronavirus vaccine, will arrive in Belarus at the beginning of 2021, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev said on the air of the STV TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The first batch of the vaccine will arrive in Belarus at the beginning of 2021 to be used for vaccination,” Dmitry Mezentsev said.
“We are grateful for the professional opinion given by Belarusian sanitary doctors who assessed the efficacy of the experimental cycle of the vaccine testing, which demonstrated that the vaccine can be produced jointly,” the ambassador said.
Dmitry Mezentsev stated that this year was very difficult, since the COVID-19 pandemic caught everyone off guard. At the same time, he believes that “this is another reason to discuss what we can produce together”.
A reminder, the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus issued a registration certificate for the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. This certificate allows the sale and medical use of the vaccine in Belarus. Earlier, Belarus became the first country to take part in the clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine.
