MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Belarus will be represented by nine athletes at BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 7 in Kontiolahti, Finland, BelTA informs.
The competitions will kick off with the Men’s 10km Sprint on 8 March. The Belarusian men’s team will comprise Vladimir Chepelin, Sergei Bocharnikov, Roman Eletnov and Anton Smolsky.
On 9 March Darya Domracheva, Irina Krivko, Dinara Alimbekova, Nadezhda Skardino and Nadezhda Pisareva will compete in the Women’s 7.5km Sprint. Single Mixed Relay and 2x6+2x7.5 Mixed Relay are scheduled for 10 March. The Men’s 15km Mass Start and the Women’s 12.5km Mass Start competitions will wrap up BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 7 on 11 March.
Kaisa Makarainen of Finland with 592 points is currently on top of the Women’s World Cup Total Score. Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia is second with 577 points. Dorothea Wierer of Italy goes third with 525 points. Darya Domracheva is fifth with 436 points, Irina Krivko is 19th (295 points), Nadezhda Skardino – 20th (263), Nadezhda Pisareva – 71st (18), Dinara Alimbekova – 73rd (14), Darya Yurkevich – 85th (5).
The Men’s World Cup Total Score is topped by Martin Fourcade of France with 834 points. Sergei Bocharnikov of Belarus is 49th with 65 points, Vladimir Chepelin – 62nd (34), Roman Eletnov – 76th (15).
BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 8 will take place in Holmenkollen, Norway on 15-18 March. BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 9 will wrap up the season in Tyumen, Russia on 22-25 March.
