MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Belarus is grateful to Austria for many-year cooperation on the Chernobyl matters, said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Austria Alena Kupchyna during a visit to Krems (the federal state of Lower Austria) to attend a solemn event of the Austrian charity initiative Help to Children from Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Vienna.
The event was timed to the annual recuperation campaign for children from Belarusian Chernobyl-hit regions. Attending the meeting was head of the initiative Help to Children from Belarus Maria Hetzer (awarded the Francysk Skaryna Order for the implementation of the project), MP of the National Council of Austria Werner Groiss, representatives of the local authorities, participants and sponsors of the humanitarian project, and also a group of Belarusian children and their foster families.
Alena Kupchyna addressed the participants of the event with a greeting word and expressed gratitude to Austria for many-year cooperation on Chernobyl matters and stressed the readiness of the Belarusian diplomatic mission to continue supporting the charity project.
