MINSK, 14 June (BelTA) – The exhibition, Belarus Through the Eyes of Russian Painters, in the Art Gallery "The University of Culture" will feature the works of St. Petersburg artists, BelTA learnt from coordinator of the project, Director of the University of Culture Art Gallery Pavel Sapotko.
The exposition that is to open on 28 June will display the works of St. Petersburg artists Yevgeny Antipov, Pavel Antipov, Arseniy Bagdasaryan, Natalia Beketova, Antonina Volodchenko, Ksenia Zavarzova, Maria Perkhun, Pavel Pichugin, Alla Prozorova, Ivan Tarasyuk and others. These are the paintings made during a two-week plein air which is underway in various regions of Belarus. The exhibition will familiarize Belarusians with the achievements and traditions of the St. Petersburg School of Fine Arts.
The idea of the international social and cultural project that includes a plein air and an exhibition was voiced by Russian art patron, Doctor of Economic Sciences, holder of the Russian Order of Honor Vyacheslav Zarenkov. The project is aimed at developing international cultural ties, strengthening friendship and cooperation between representatives of various countries, promoting human values, supporting cultural initiatives, reviving and developing the patronship and charity traditions.
The exposition is organized by the Belarusian Public and Cultural Association of St. Petersburg and the National State Television and Radio Company of Belarus. The project is supported by the Administration of St. Petersburg and the Belarusian Culture Ministry.
According to Pavel Sapotko, the exhibition will stay open in Belarus on 28-30 June. There are also plans to organize an exposition of paintings of Belarusian and Russian artists.
