MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – A team of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry won a bronze at the 3rd USIP World Police Games in Milan, Italy, BelTA learned from the ministry.
The event was organized by the International Police Sports Union (USIP) and brought together around 800 participants from 37 countries. Police officers competed in seven sport disciplines: jiu jitsu, trap shooting, swimming, practical shooting, cycling, athletics (a 10km race), and judo. The Belarusian team took part in five disciplines: practical shooting, athletics, swimming, judo, and jiu jitsu.
“The Belarusian team was third in the team classification falling behind Bahrain. The gold went to the host country, Italy. All in all, the Belarusian team won 21 medals: five gold, nine silver, and seven bronze,” the ministry noted.
Belarus debuted at the 2nd World Police Games in Abu Dhabi, the UAE in 2017. The Belarusian team placed fifth among 41 countries on the overall team standings.
