MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – Belarusian publications of 2018 are on show at the 20th Vilnius Book Fair, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Information Ministry.
On the first day of the expo Belarus presented the collection of Nikolai Malyavko’s historical essays “Motherland, How Not to Become a Mankurt” published by the Narodnaya Asveta publishing house, and also “Museums of Belarus” and “Organs of Belarus”, the latest publications of the Petrus Brovka Belarusian Encyclopedia publishing house.
The Belarusian delegation plans to take part in a roundtable meeting at Francysk Skaryna Gymnasium and donate a number of books on behalf of the Belarusian government.
The Belarusian stand will also feature the book “Belarus-Lithuania: Time for Rapprochement” written by member of the Belarusian Union of Writers Vladimir Drazhin who worked as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Lithuania for many years.
The Belarusian delegation plans to meet with representatives of the Lithuanian Union of Writers, visit the Spauda publishing house to present the historical research work “Wittgenstein Princes and their Possessions in Imperial Russia in the 19th Century”. The event will be held in the Pavilniu and Verkiai regional parks.
The Vilnius Book Fair is running at the exhibition center Litexpo on 21-24 February. The program envisages about 550 events and 200 meetings with writers. An estimated 360 participants from eight countries and 54 delegations from 21 countries are taking part in the expo this year.
