MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Belarus’ education system has been presented at the Global Education & Skills Forum that took place in the United Arab Emirates on 22-25 March, BelTA learned from the press center of the Education Ministry.
A ministerial summit was held on the sidelines of the forum. Belarus’ Deputy Education Minister Sergei Rudy presented Belarus’ best education practices and the country’s progress towards achieving sustainable development goals. He also took part in a debate that sought to discuss obstacles towards the SDGs and ways to remove them.
Sergei Rudy met with senior officials of the Ministry of Education of the UAE. “The parties discussed Belarus-UAE educational partnerships, cooperation prospects in personnel training, including in vocational education,” the press center informed. On behalf of Belarus’ Education Minister Igor Karpenko he invited his UAE counterparts to visit Belarus to study its expertise and knowledge in education and discuss cooperation prospects.
Each year the Global Education & Skills Forum brings together world leaders from the public, private and social sectors and seeks solutions to achieve education, equity and employment for all. “The participation in the forum allowed Belarus to demonstrate the best practices of the national education system in the context of global education trends and national interests, to forge new contacts, identify priority avenues in cooperation with foreign states with a view to increasing the export of education services,” the press center noted.
