MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) - The Association of Public Postal Operators of Europe (PostEurop) is holding a competition for the most beautiful 2020 EUROPA stamps. The Belarusian postal service Belpochta is also participating in the event, BelTA learned from Belpochta.
The theme of 2020 is the Ancient Postal Routes. The stamp issued in Belarus depicts the postal route “Krakow – Warsaw – Goradnya – Vilna”, approved by the Grand Duke of Lithuania Stefan Batory in 1583. Against the background of the map there is a messenger holding a road sheet – a special travel document that specified the date, time and the itinerary of the messenger.
This stamp uses the augmented reality technology: when you point a smartphone camera with the Ar Marka Belarus application over the stamp, the image “comes to life”.
Voting will last until 9 September. Please visit the website www.posteurop.org/europa2020 and vote for your favorite stamp.
