MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Melitina Staniouta of Belarus won the Individual All-Around test event in rhythmic gymnastics in Rio de Janeiro, BelTA has learned.
The tournament at Rio Olympic Arena that will host the competitions in August started with the qualification round where the Belarusian showed her best performance. Several leaders did not come to the capital of the 31st Summer Olympics for the event. In the Individual All-Around final Melitina Staniouta scored 18,000 points with the Ball, 18,083 points with the Clubs, 17,500 points with the Ribbon and 17,166 with the Hoop (a total of 70,749 points). Second in the test event was Kazakhstan’s Sabina Ashirbayeva with 68,966 points. Nicol Ruprecht of Austria finished third with 67,883 points.
At the 2015 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships Belarus earned three berths for the Rio 2016.
