MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) – Belarus presented its travel industry and tourism opportunities in Stockholm, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Sweden.
The event was attended by representatives of the Belaursian National Union of Tourism Industry, BelAgroTravel, Ditrib Travel Agency, and the general agent of Belavia air carrier in Stockholm. On behalf of Sweden, the event was attended by representatives of ten tour operators, including Latitude Travel, Iventus Travel, Varldens Resor.
Welcoming the guests Belarusian Ambassador to Sweden Dmitry Mironchik said that Belarus has something to offer Swedish customers both in terms of traditional leisure and educational tourism. In 2018 over 6,000 Swedes traveled to Belarus taking the advantage of the visa-free travel program and this indicates a serious potential for organized tourism.
It is good that Belarusian and Swedish travel companies have noticed this trend timely and are ready to use it for mutual benefit, the diplomat said.
Representatives of foreign travel companies were provided with detailed information about the possibilities of road, recreational, medical tourism, and offers from Belarusian farm-stays. The event featured a presentation of weekend tours and active recreation programs, including visits to nature reserves and national parks. Belarus’ visa-free entry program also got its fair share of attention.
Following the event, representatives of a number of Swedish companies expressed their interest in establishing cooperation with Belarusian partners and developing joint products.
