MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarusian and Serbian scientists are expected to implement ten joint sci-tech projects in 2018-2019, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee.
The projects have been selected on the priority areas of bilateral cooperation. These are nanomaterials, laser technologies, optoelectronics, physics and mathematics, agriculture, energy saving technology, biotechnology, ecological and environmental protection, chemical technology.
According to the press service, the decision was taken at the eighth meeting of the joint Belarusian-Serbian commission on sci-tech cooperation that was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Sergei Shcherbakov and Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia Sasa Stojanovic.
The meeting also discussed the ways to expand and intensify sci-tech and innovative cooperation between the countries. The parties signed a protocol and the executive program on sci-tech and innovative cooperation for 2018-2019.
The delegation from Serbia is in Minsk on a visit on 19-20 December. The program of the visit will include visits to a number of educational establishments and organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
According to the State Science and Technology Committee, the Belarusian-Serbian sci-tech cooperation is based on the inter-governmental agreement between Belarus and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia of 6 March 1996.
