MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian team of freestyle skiers, Anna Guskova, Stanislav Gladchenko and Denis Osipov, claimed the team silver at the Lake Placid FIS Freestyle Cup in the United States, BelTA has learned.
Team Belarus secured 320 points to finish second in the final round. Anna Guskova earned 81.27 points, Stanislav Gladchenko collected 114.39 points while Denis Osipov scored 124.34 points.
China claimed gold with 330.23 points. Russia came third with 295.33 points.
The Belarusian team of Anna Guskova, Denis Osipov and Maxim Gustik claimed the team bronze at the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup in Beijing, China in December 2014.
In the women’s competition at Lake Placid, 18-year-old Alexandra Romanovskaya of Belarus clinched gold with a total of 80.62 points. The Belarusian was trailed by Veronika Korsunova of Russia and Canada's Melissa Corbo.
In the men’s event, Denis Osipov finished 7th (113.72 points), Maxim Gustik was 9th (109.29).
In the FIS Freestyle standings Denis Osipov is currently 9th with 125 points, Maxim Gustik – 12th (122), Stanislav Gladchenko – 20th (63). Alexandra Romanovskaya goes 3rd (198) in the women’s table, with Anna Guskova at 7th (171) and Olga Kapustina at 24th (48).
The next World Cup aerials event is due to take place in Moscow, Russian Federation on 21 February.
