MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) - Team Belarus took the second place at the international lumberjack tournament TOP 10 in the Estonian city of Palamuse, BelTA learned from the website of the Bellesbumprom concern.
Estonia was first and Finland finished third. Juka Peramjaki was victorious in the individual event. The best-performing Belarusian participant was Anatoly Andron who placed second in Limbing and fourth in the all-around.
TOP 10 featured 39 professionals from the Baltic and Scandinavian countries. Team Belarus was composed of Alexander Abramchuk (OAO Ivatsevichdrev), Anatoly Andron (Republican Center for Advanced Training of Forestry Specialists) and Aleksei Polyachok (ZAO Pinskdrev).
The international tournament traditionally brings together the strongest lumberjacks, many-time winners of the world championships. Belarus was second in the overall standings last year. Finland was first and Estonia third.
