MOSCOW, 31 March (BelTA) – Although Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia is marked on 2 April, the main celebrations will take place in the capitals of the two countries on 4 April, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told a press conference on 31 March, BelTA has learned.
Minsk and Moscow will host solemn meetings and concerts that are to be attended by representatives of government bodies and the general public of the two countries.
According to Grigory Rapota, Unity Day is, first of all, an opportunity to take stock of what has been done in the Union State development, take a look at its successes and problems.
“The Union State is a project aimed at creation. The project is focused on improving living standards of people of Belarus and Russia, addressing social and economic issues,” the State Secretary said.
