VITEBSK, 17 July (BelTA) - The Union State is planning to present awards in science and technology every two years, State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota said during a press conference, BelTA has learned.
According to Grigory Rapota, there are already awards in literature and art. They are awarded to representatives of the two countries at the Slavianski Bazaar. “Now we have developed the regulations on the new award in science and technology. It will be presented every two years on 2 April, the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia,” Grigory Rapota informed.
He added that the Standing Committee of the Union State is busy searching for new projects. Now the Union State is implementing 12 programs. This list should be at least maintained or be extended. “We are currently gathering proposals in various areas: space, smart city, radiation safety, medicine or culture. For us, culture is a serious element of interaction between our countries and peoples,” Grigory Rapota noted/
The Day of the Union State is running at the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk today. Several official events have already taken place. Many are still ahead such as a roundtable on culture and literature in the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
In the evening the Summer Amphitheater will host the concert program “The Union State invites...”. Special diplomas and prizes of the Standing Committee of the Union State will be presented during the concert.
The 29th edition of the International Arts Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk will take place on 16-19 July. The major events of the festival will be the international contest of popular song performers Vitebsk 2020 and the international children's music contest Vitebsk 2020.
