MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – Belarus has been nominated for awards in two categories at the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2016. Winners will be decided through online voting on the website of the National Geographic Russia magazine, BelTA has learned.

The competition features 23 categories. Belarus appears in two of them, namely Agrotourism (currently placed 2nd) and Wellness Tourism (ranked among the top five). It is worth noting that the voting procedure allows the readers to add an answer option of their own, so it is possible that Belarus will also receive votes in other categories.

The readers will also choose the best destinations in the categories Beach Vacation, Family Vacation, Mountain-Skiing Vacation, Sightseeing Vacation, Adventure Tourism, Exotic Tourism and Ecotourism. Apart from that, they will name the best destination for Gastronomy Tourism and choose Discovery of the Year. The online voting will also determine the winners in the categories Best Foreign Airline, Best Russian Airline, Best Airport, Best Online Service, Best Hotel Chain, Best Beach Hotel, Best Cruise Tour, and Best TV Travel Program. Finally, the readers are invited to cast their votes for the best destinations inside Russia.

The online voting will last through 6 November.
