MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Belarus is ranked 37th in the annual Global Creativity Index 2015. The index lists 139 countries. Belarus is the most creative one in the Commonwealth of Independent States, BelTA has learned.
Belarus is closely followed by Russia, which landed 38th. The leaders of Global Creativity Index 2015 are Australia, the USA, and New Zealand. The top ten also include Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, and Netherlands.
To compile the global creativity index, experts measured talents, technologies, and tolerance of the countries across the globe. Specialists attribute Belarus’ rather high position primarily to the country's residents. Belarus is in the top ten as far as the talent measurement is concerned and occupies position number eight in the neighborhood of Slovenia, Sweden, and New Zealand.
The analysts had no data regarding the share of the so-called creative class in the population’s structure, this is why the relevant column contains a dash in it.
As far as technologies are concerned, Belarus is ranked 41st.
Tolerance is the weakest spot of Belarus, experts say. Specialists identify tolerance as the government’s readiness to embrace innovations and new ideas. As far as tolerance is concerned, Belarus is ranked 97th.
