MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met with Belarusian tennis player Victoria Azarenka on 17 October, BelTA leaned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The meeting took place in a warm atmosphere. The head of state asked the athlete about her physical condition and plans for participation in major tennis tournaments. Victoria Azarenka said she will not play any more tournaments this year. The athlete noted she will start training for next year’s events in the near future.

Alexander Lukashenko and Victoria Azarenka also discussed the matters regarding the development of tennis in Belarus and the global trends in this sport.
