MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) - The 27th General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) is taking place in Cascais, Portugal, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus.
Taking part in the event are more than 850 delegates from 288 organizations. Among them are representatives of the NOCs, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), international sports federations and members of the Organizing Committees of the Olympic Games. The Belarusian delegation in Portugal is represented by NOC Secretary General, two-time Olympic medalist in rhythmic gymnastics Ksenia Sankovich and Head of the NOC International Relations Department Vasily Yurchik.
IOC President Thomas Bach delivered his final keynote address as IOC head on the opening day of the event. ANOC President Robin Mitchell and ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg also addressed the participants. The agenda of the assembly includes the final report on the 2024 Paris Games, reports of the ANOC Commissions it and audit commissions of the ANOC, as well as the latest news from the organizing committee of the Los Angeles Games 2028. Other topics for discussion include anti-doping, commercial opportunities and sports sponsorship.
