MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – The Alexandrov National Cancer Center of Belarus has received a prestigious award of the National Cancer Institute of the United States, Deputy Director for Science at the Alexandrov National Cancer Center Sergei Krasny told reporters, BelTA has learned.
The award was bestowed in recognition of the achievements of the Alexandrov National Cancer Center in developing the cancer service and its study of malignant tumors.
The Alexandrov National Cancer Center of Belarus and the National Cancer Institute of the United States maintain close cooperation. Two conferences were held in the past three years. One was dedicated to gynecologic and urologic cancers, the second dealt with screening of malignant tumors. The third conference will take place in 2019 to focus on gynecologic and urologic cancers and breast cancer. A similar event is scheduled for 2020. The conferences are funded by the National Cancer Institute of the United States and are meant for specialists from around the world.
An arrangement was reached to release five joint publications. The work will involve not only the Alexandrov National Cancer Center of Belarus, but also leading cancer centers from the CIS member states. International publications will unveil the results of programs on cancer screening and early detection of cancer.
