MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – The National Art Museum of Belarus invites visitors to take part in the Museum Selfie Day 2020, BelTA learned from the museum.
Launched six years ago the Museum Selfie Day trend has gone worldwide. This initiative is held every third Wednesday of January. On this day thousands of people pull out their smartphones and capture themselves with their favorite museum exhibits using special tags. “We invite visitors to take selfies in the National Art Museum and share photos in their social media accounts. We really encourage visitors to use their cameras to enhance their museum experience and remember it for a long time ,” the museum said.
All you need to do in order to take part in the campaign is to come to the National Art Museum with a smartphone, take a selfie and upload it using the tags #MuseumSelfieDay2020 and #artmuseumby. ”We will try to make this day really special, therefore on 15 January every visitor will be able to try Instagram masks developed by the museum,” the museum added.
In addition to that, those who will come to the museum on 15 January will be able to take part in a master class by poetess Yulia Timofeyeva. She will discuss her experience in photography and her perception of space. There will be an excursion dedicated to portrait painting across the main exposition. Visitors are also invited to attend a master class on mobile photography to be held by photographer Alina Makarova and a lecture on selfies and self-portraits by art critic Svetlana Smulskaya.
