MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – The TurStat analytical agency has released a rating of CIS resorts that are most popular with Russian tourists during the summer season, BelTA learned from the agency.
Top 5 CIS resorts include Burabai (Borovoye) in Kazakhstan, Issyk-Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan, Naroch Lake in Belarus, Absheron on the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan, Lake Sevan in Armenia.
Visa-free entry, absence of language barriers and hospitality of local residents, reasonable prices, tasty local food and fruit are among the major advantages of spending summer holidays in the CIS, the agency informed.
According to TurStat, Russian travelers spend one to two weeks in the CIS resorts on average and spend RUB3,000-7,000 per day. Issyk-Kul is the cheapest destination, while Baku is the most expensive of them.
The ranking is based on the analysis of visits and infrastructure development.
