MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) - Belarus has topped the list of the most popular travel destinations among Russians during the May break. The survey was conducted by the Russian tourist service Travel.ru, BelTA informs.
According to Travel.ru, the list of top ten countries also included the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Greece, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Germany.
The most popular cities for the May break are Minsk, Prague, Rome, Riga, Barcelona, Vilnius, Tallinn, Helsinki, Baku and Bratislava.
Russians come to the Belarusian capital for three days on average and spend over RUB3,000 per day. Russian tourists spend almost RUB6,400 per day abroad.
The cheapest destination for travel is Brest where tourists pay an average of RUB2,000 for accommodation per day. The most expensive is Venice and Hong Kong (more than RUB12,000 per day).
The ranking is based on the number of hotel bookings made by Russian tourists traveling independently from 30 April to 9 May 2016.
