MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) - Belarus was the cheapest tourist destination in the CIS for Russian travelers in 2015, BelTA learned from the Russian travel online-service Travel.ru.
According to Travel.ru, Russian tourists spent RUB4,200 on average on hotel accommodation per day in Belarus in 2015. For comparison: it was RUB4,500 on accommodations per day in Ukraine, and RUB7,100 in Kazakhstan.
In general, the cheapest hotel accommodation in the non-CIS countries for Russians in 2015 was in Morocco (RUB3,000 per day), Lithuania (RUB3,100) and Bulgaria (RUB3,300). The most expensive were hotels in Switzerland (RUB15,100 per day) and the UK (RUB11,400). The top ten most expensive countries for Russian tourists include the USA, Singapore, Israel, the UAE, France, Netherlands, Mexico and Denmark.
The rating was made based on the number of hotel reservations made by Russian tourists traveling independently from 1 January till 31 December 2015.
