MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – Belarus has placed 50th in the Human Development Index (HDI) ranking with a score of 0.798. The information is contained in the 2015 Human Development Report, BelTA has learned.
Belarus previously ranked 53rd out of almost two hundred countries. The recently released ranking placed Belarus at the top of the ‘high human development’ section together with Russia holding the same 50th place. This is the best result among the countries of the CIS.
The Human Development Report is an annual milestone published by the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The HDI is a composite statistic of life expectancy, education, and income per capita indicators, which are used to rank countries into four tiers of human development.
