MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team climbed to the 70th place in the recent rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Belgium has topped the list for the first time in its history, BelTA has learned.
Last month Belarus played two final games of the Euro 2016 qualifying tournament, beating Slovakia 1-0 and playing in a 0-0 draw against Macedonia. Thanks to it, Alexander Khatskevich’s men hold 479 points at present.
The FIFA top ten in November:
1. Belgium – 1.440 points
2. Germany – 1.388
3. Argentina – 1.383
4. Portugal – 1.364
5. Chile – 1.288
6. Spain – 1.287
7. Colombia – 1.283
8. Brazil – 1.208
9. England – 1.179
10. Austria – 1.130.
According to the FIFA rankings, Russia goes 23rd with 885 points, Ukraine – 28th (806), Uzbekistan – 71st (477 points), Estonia – 90th (370), Latvia – 99th (342), Georgia – 111th (301), Azerbaijan – 115th (293), Turkmenistan – 121st (281), Lithuania – 123rd (279), Kyrgyzstan – 124th (277), Armenia – 127th (271), Kazakhstan – 131st (256), Moldova – 154th (177), Tajikistan – 160th (159).
