MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Lithuania have signed a program of cooperation in tourism for 2016-2017, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vilnius hosted a meeting of the joint working group on tourism of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus and the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Natalia Yeliseyeva, the Lithuanian delegation by Head of Tourism Policy Division Renaldas Ciuzas. Attending the meeting was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Lithuania Alexander Korol.
The parties exchanged opinions on the development of the tourism sector in Belarus and Lithuania and discussed the current state and promising areas of cooperation in this field, including cross-border projects. A program of cooperation in tourism between the two ministries for 2016-2017 was signed.
The Belarusian delegation attended the international tourism, leisure and sports expo Adventur 2016 in Vilnius. Belarus’ tourism potential was presented as part of the event. The presentation was organized by the National Tourism Agency. It was delivered by heads and representatives of Belarus’ largest travel companies.
