MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched an online campaign in the run-up to the 75th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazis, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus lost every third of its residents in the Great Patriotic War. In the year of the 75th anniversary of the country’s liberation from the Nazis let us pay tribute to the feat of our people. Please, share your stories under #BY75,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on its official Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Belarus’ diplomatic missions abroad have already joined the initiative. They are posting photos and information on the Second World War events.
Many of the posts under #BY75 are related to the theme of the national resistance during the Great Patriotic War. Belarus occupied by the Nazis saw the biggest partisan movement in Europe (over 374,000 partisans).
