VALETTA, 14 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 Alexander Minyonok will take to the stage in the first part of the Grand Final. The news was announced after the official draw ceremony, which took place in Manoel Theater in Valetta, the capital of Malta on 14 November, BelTA has learned.
Each delegation of 17 countries participating in the forum was greeted by famous Maltese actress, singer and dancer Taryn Mamo Cefai during the official opening ceremony for the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Belarus’ entry Alexander Minyonok and the Vitebsk show ballet company Sensatsiya (comprising Kirill Myakhovsky, Vladislav Bashmetov, Valeria Ilchenko and Karina Vasilevskaya) walked along the Red Carpet together with head of the Belarusian delegation Olga Salamakha. The Belarusian singer said in a brief interview that music was his life and that he was also fond of different sports.
Alexander Minyonok drew 13th spot during the draw ceremony, which means that he would perform in the first part of the showl. The organizers will later decide upon the exact final runnign order in each of the groups.
Malta’s Public Broadcasting Services Limited (PBS) has developed a concept of the festival week for this year’s song competition. The center of the festival week will be Malta’s capital city Valetta. The winner will be determined by three panels of judges: national children’s and adult juries who will vote in their countries during the dress rehearsal, and also a professional panel of judges that will vote during the final show. The Grand Final is due to take place in the Mediterranean Conference Centre on 20 November. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be broadcast live by the Belarus One and Belarus 24 TV channels.
Belarus' vote results will be announced by Belarus’ Junior Eurovision 2015 entry Ruslan Aslanov. The preparation of the Belarusian participant for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is run by the Belarusian Television and Radio Company as the country’s only member of the European Broadcasting Union.
