MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Paralympics team goes eight in the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics medal count, BelTA informs.
Belarus has so far won seven (two gold, three silver and two bronze) medals. Champion titles were taken by Svetlana Sakhonenko (Women’s 15km cross-country skiing, Visually Impaired) and Yuri Golub (Men’s 12.5km biathlon, Visually Impaired).
Silver went to Dmitry Loban (Men’s 7.5km, Sitting), Yuri Golub (Men’s 20km cross-country skiing and biathlon Men’s 7.5km). Bronze medals were clinched by Lidiya Grafeyeva (Women’s 6km biathlon, Sitting) and Svetlana Sakhonenko (Women’s 6km, Visually Impaired).
The PyeongChang Paralympics medal count is topped by the United States with 17 (6 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze) medals. Ukraine goes second with 15 (5, 4, 6) medals. Third is Russia with 11 (4, 5, 2) medals.
The 12th Winter Paralympics in PyeongChang will be over on 18 March.
